Sun Upgrades Netra X1 Server
Sun Microsystems Inc. has upgraded its Netra X1 thin server. Sun has increased the Netra X1 server's processor speed by 25 percent, doubled the disk capacity to 80GB and the maximum memory capacity to 2GB. The company announced that the entry-level server price will remain $995.
The Netra X1 server ships with the complete Solaris 8 Operating Environment and lights out monitoring software for remote monitoring and control. The new server configuration also supports the Solaris Network Cache Accelerator (NCA) socket.
