CA Introduces Utilities for Mainframe DB2
Computer Associates Inc. released new managementutility suites for DB2 on the mainframe. CA says this offers a morecomprehensive solution than IBM Corp.’s fee-based services.
Unicenter Enhanced Operational Utilities Suite for DB2is designed for improving database performance. The suite includes UnicenterFast Unload, Unicenter Fast Load, Unicenter Quick Copy, Unicenter DatabaseAnalyzer and Unicenter Fast Recover.
Unicenter Enhanced Diagnostic and Recovery Suite forDB2 is a set of tools for detecting and resolving problems. The tools includedwith this suite include Unicenter Quick Copy, Unicenter Fast Recovery,Unicenter Fast Check, and Unicenter Merge/Modify.
CA also said it rolled out a new version of itsUnicenter product for DB2 on Unix and Windows.
All of these tools fit into CA’s Unicenter framework,which is designed for managing heterogeneous systems across the enterprise.
