Additional Salary Survey Sites

Salary.com
Probably the best-known site for helping determine what others are making in their area, although some industry experts say they err on the high side.

Robert Half (RHI)
This international human resources company publishes yearly salary guides for the information technology industry.

techies.com
Online career center pulls salary data from about 750,000 U.S. tech professionals and publishes reports on compensation, benefits cost-of-living analysis, etc.

Datamasters
This staffing company does annual surveys. They're less detailed (fewer job titles and less specific locations) than other resources listed here, but they're a nice check on other survey results.

Pencom Systems Inc.
Again, a much less information salary guideline, with fewer details and explanations than other sites, but the data can act as a check on other sources.

WageWeb
29 different information management compensations are tracked here, everything from data entry to vice president.

Computerjobs.com
One of the more comprehensive IT salary tools on the Web, although the data it's based on is now more than a year old.

The Wall Street Journal
The Wall Street Journal has recently added free compensation tables for thousands of job titles throughout the United States, Canada and 200 other countries. There are also regular articles on hiring demand by function and industry.
