Lakeview, IBM Host Webcast on OS/400 and MIMIX
This week, Lakeview Technology and IBM will present a joint Web cast that will offer insights into utilizing the recent advancements in Logical Partitioning (LPAR) technology implemented in IBM OS/400 V5R1. "Eliminating Planned Downtime in a Single iSeries or AS/400 System Environment" will air on July 25, 2001, at 10 a.m. Central Time.
Focused on issues important to IT managers responsible for single-server iSeries or AS/400 systems, this interactive 60-minute presentation will discuss the effective use of MIMIX, in conjunction with OS/400's new LPAR capabilities in reducing planned downtime. Technical experts from Lakeview and IBM will lead the presentations and follow-up discussions, answering questions submitted by the participants about their specific data and application availability issues. Chris Bartley, director of solution services for Lakeview Technology, will focus on issues surrounding the development and implementation of Managed Availability solutions using MIMIX within the LPAR environment. Eric Hess of IBM's Advanced Technical Support for the Americas will join the Web cast from the iSeries Systems Center in Rochester, MN, offering participants the benefit of his 19 years of experience. Eric will discuss how to apply the power of the new V5R1 LPAR advancements to single-server systems.
Lakeview Technology develops and markets the MIMIX solution suite for continuous, no-exceptions availability of data and applications in the IBM iSeries and AS/400 environments, as well as the OmniEnterprise solution suite, a data-replication solution that automates the sharing and synchronization of data in both homogeneous and heterogeneous environments.
