CST Announces Domino Integration Plans

News from last week's LotuSphere 99 keeps rolling in, as Atlanta-based CST Inc. recently made three Domino-based announcements expected to affect the AS/400 market.

CST has announced the availability of its Jacada ComponentServer for Domino, designed to enable the rapid deployment of e-commerce solutions by leveraging legacy applications with Lotus Notes/Domino. Jacada ComponentServer is an application server that provides an open Java RMI-based API seamlessly integrated with Domino.

"Using Java as a scripting language, Domino applications can now, for the first time, completely leverage existing RPG and Cobol applications to power Domino and Lotus Notes applications," says David Marshak, VP and senior consultant with Patricia Seybold Group.

In its second announcement at LotuSphere, CST and New York-based Binary Tree Inc. announced a technology agreement that integrates the two companies' products, Jacada ComponentServer and ezMerchant from Binary Tree. Binary Tree will use ComponentServer with ezMerchant to integrate existing AS/400 or mainframe applications with its e-commerce offering.

"For any company that wants to easily deploy an e-commerce solution that integrates existing RPG and Cobol application programs with a sophisticated Web storefront now a turnkey solution is available from Binary Tree," says David Holmes, senior VP of CST. "The solution offers real-time access to existing enterprise applications using ezMerchant."

In the third portion of its LotuSphere announcements, CST announced a new systems integrator partner program for its ComponentServer for Domino product. The Jacada ComponentServer CCP Program is an extension of CST's existing Certified Consulting Partners Program, which targets integrators and developers implementing Jacada solutions.
