Wall Data Upgrades Cyberprise Web Application Development Tool

With the release of DBApp Developer 2.5, Wall Data Inc. (Kirkland, Wash.) enhances the Web application-building component of its Cyberprise product line. Used for building dynamic Web applications from existing and new databases, Cyberprise DBApp Developer 2.5 now integrates with Microsoft Visual InterDev 6.0, allowing developers to work on DBApp applications within the Visual InterDev environment.

DBApp Developer 2.5 is designed to provide added support for DB2/400 databases, allowing AS/400 shops to provide Web-based access to their AS/400 databases.

Enhancements introduced with release 2.5 of the product provide developers with "a powerful tool to quickly and easily develop and deploy database-driven Web applications," according to Liffy Franklin, VP of product management for Wall Data. "Cyberprise DBApp Developer 2.5 significantly reduces development time, allowing customers to build intranet and extranet applications faster than ever."

Integration with MS Visual InterDev 6.0 is expected to allow developers to further enhance and customize Cyberprise DBApp applications. DBApp Developer provides a "design time control" that plugs into Visual InterDev, facilitating the modification of page layouts via drag-and-drop in WYSIWYG mode.

DBApp Developer 2.5, Professional Edition, is currently available at a suggested U.S. list price of $4,750. Current Cyberprise DBApp Developer 2.0 customers can expect to receive a complimentary upgrade to 2.5, Professional Edition. Cyberprise DBApp Developer 2.5, Standard Edition, has a suggested list price of $2,500.
