DataMirror HA Suite 3.0 Arrives
DataMirror has announced the availability of its High Availability Suite 3.0 for the AS/400, a more complete high availability suite expected to give the Markham, Ontario-based company a stronger foothold in the high availability market.
First previewed in the Nov. 30 MIDRANGE Systems, High Availability Suite 3.0 features fully integrated installation for all components, as well as combined processes for configuration and monitoring of all mirroring activity. There is no need to run separate tasks from different applications, saving time and system resources.
High Availability Suite 3.0 is a free upgrade to existing HA Suite customers who have a service contract.
In related news, Lakeview Technology (Oak Brook, Ill.), long a leader in AS/400 high availability products, has updated its newly acquired OmniEnterprise data transformation product for the first time. Lakeview acquired Praxis International Inc., developers of OmniEnterprise, in early October, giving it an entry in the data replication and transformation market. OmniEnterprise now supports Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 and Lakeview plans to announce DB2/400 support for the product later this month.
