DataMirror Introduces BPS as Prime Distributor at BPEC '99

As announced at IBM's Business Partner Executive Conference '99 in New Orleans, DataMirror Corp. (Toronto) has chosen Business Partner Solutions (BPS) to become a prime distributor of DataMirror software across the Americas.

The agreement is expected to enhance DataMirror's ability to reach customers needing interconnected data solutions for AS/400, RS/65000, mainframe and Netfinity server-based solutions. Under the terms of the agreement, BPS (San Antonio) will be a distributor for the entire DataMirror product family, including Transformation Server, High Availability Suite and SQL Pump.

"As the market for interconnected data solutions expands, the need for software that can integrate data from a wide range of databases and computing platforms is growing along," says Gary Collins, VP of sales for Americas of DataMirror. "The extensive solution provider network of Business Partner Solutions will deliver exceptional value to the entire DataMirror organizations; our customers, shareholders and other business partners."

The agreement, effective immediately, is expected to enable DataMirror to expand its overall distribution channel in the American markets through leveraging activities of the extended network of BPS solution providers.

"Our new relationship with DataMirror provides growth opportunities for our solution providers," says Jim Teter, VP of sales and marketing for BPS. "It allows them to deliver increased value to their customers and, at the same time, grow their business. DataMirror's cross-platform replication technology will open up new markets for our business partners in servicing customers with mixed-system environments."

Also as part of the relationship, BPS is expected to invest in a showcase training facility for DataMirror software to help BPS Solution Providers become certified in the implementation of DataMirror solutions. DataMirror and BPS have also announced they are engaging in expanded joint marketing initiatives and other cooperative programs.
