J.D. Edwards wasted little time making news at PartnerWorld (San Diego, Calif.) as the Denver-based ERP and e-business company announced it is bringing its Active Supply Chain suite to the AS/400.
“IBM continues to anticipate market trends and lead the way with its evolving AS/400e server, which is one of the most secure and viable servers in the industry,” says Edward Sitarski, VP of supply chain planning at J.D. Edwards. "Companies running enterprise applications on the AS/400e and looking to pursue supply chain strategies will realize a time-to-market and reduced-cost advantage with our ASP applications working on the AS/400e.”
The Active Supply Chain suite is made up of Internet-enabled software solutions designed to optimize the supply chain across an enterprise.
Called OS/400 Portable Application Solutions Environment (PASE), the new technology can integrate existing application suites with e-commerce, business intelligence, supply chain and customer relationship management. PASE also provides essential support for ISVs with UNIX solutions to run on their AS/400.
“The addition of J.D. Edwards Active Supply Chain suite is another step in clearly establishing AS/400e as a premier platform capable of delivering world-class solutions for the supply chain,” says Patrice Mitchell, VP of product management and segment solutions, AS/400, IBM. “We are pleased to be working with partners like J.D. Edwards to deliver the industry’s best manufacturing management and execution solutions to AS/400 customers.”
