IBM and IBS Sign E-Business Marketing Agreement

IBM announced Wednesday it has entered into a world-wide marketing agreement with International Business Systems (IBS, Stockholm, Sweden) that will allow IBS to sell and market IBM e-business software.

IBS, an ERP software developer, is the maker of ASW software, an integrated CRM/Supply Chain Management solution.

“Together, IBM’s e-business products and IBS’ focus on ERP and supply chain management create a cutting-edge combination that ensures the success of both companies in the new e-economy,” said IBM Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA) Software VP, Massimo Bonciani.

The marketing agreement IBS and IBM signed this week is just a further step in the ongoing cooperative relationship the companies have shared for several years. IBS uses IBM’s AS/400 Server and market leading database DB2 for its ASW software. The new agreement allows IBS, as an IBM Independent Software Vendor, to market, sell and integrate IBM’s Net.Commerce, WebSphere Application Server, Lotus Domino Server and Lotus Notes Clients into IBS’s customer solutions.

“Our cooperation with IBM paves the way for IBS to deliver state-of-the-art, Internet-based, business-to-business and e-business solutions,” said Staffan Ahlberg, CEO of IBS. “The new agreement with IBM reinforces IBS’ position as a one-stop-shop for business systems, including e-business solutions, hardware and services. It also means that we will be able to offer our customers better support and services on IBM products.”
