Smith-Gardner Beefs Up WebOrder
Smith-Gardner, provider of the MACS mail order and cataloging system and the WebOrder fulfillment system for companies that market and sell products through direct sales channels, has released WebOrder 4.4. The new release boasts enhanced ordering and customer service functions for the online retailing industry.
New features allow gift givers to choose different items and ship them to multiple recipients with a single order; to order gift certificates and coupons, and send them to recipients online; to customize merchandise; to place standing orders for goods to be shipped on a regular basis without reordering; and to access real-time running totals of orders, including postage and handling charges.
WebOrder fills an important niche in the online marketplace by providing an integrated front- and back-office e-commerce system for direct-to-consumer and direct-to-business order management and fulfillment. It facilitates front-end Web site integration by providing CGI, XML, and COM Object formats. Designed to completely automate a company's entire online retailing operations, WebOrder can, Smith-Gardner claims, be implemented in just two to three months. Version 4.4 is available now.
