WebTrends Introduces Web Analytics Platform

WebTrends, a provider of enterprise management solutions that monitor the traffic, quality, and ROI of Internet/intranet Web sites and firewalls, has launched CommerceTrends 3.0, a Visitor Relationship Management solution, or Web analytics platform, designed to help businesses convert their Web visitors into customers.

CommerceTrends offers an open platform to integrate Web analytics with enterprise databases such as CRM (customer relationship management), content management and ERP systems. Businesses can then explore the results through the CommerceTrends OLAP Manager and use data mining solutions to fuel targeted and personalized marketing. The platform supports the Windows NT/2000, Sun Solaris and Red Hat Linux operating systems as well as providing database support for Oracle 8i and Microsoft SQL.

The CommerceTrends database solution relies on a Webhouse Builder that takes raw data and then stores it in a sensible, accessible database schema. The Webhouse Builder, having created relationships between visitor sessions then combines the Web data with other enterprise data sources to provide an overall view of the customer and his or her behavior.

Marketing campaign management and revenue forecasting are provided through the CommerceTrends Campaign Analyzer, which allows business managers to quality Web visitors, distinguishing between those who browse the Web site from those who express a strong interest in products or services. This information helps business managers understand which campaigns are working and how well.

The CommerceTrends OLAP Manager, a joint solution from WebTrends and analytic applications provider Hyperion, explores the integrated Web visitor analysis with demographic and transactional information from other enterprise data sources to uncover new marketing opportunities. Business managers can drill down into data or create multiple views of it. The CommerceTrends OLAP Manager automatically generates more than 20 pre-defined cubes from the data stored in the Webhouse as well as allowing users to customize additional cubes that include dimensions from online or offline sources.

CommerceTrends 3.0 is available now. Pricing starts at $30,000.
