Compaq, Computer Associates Target Midrange with Desktop/Server Management Solution

Compaq Computers Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) (Munich, Germany) and Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA, Ditton Park, England), have release two IT management packages that target medium-sized businesses across those regions and make desktop and server management solutions more affordable.
"These solutions open up a new range of options for medium-sized businesses to manage their IT needs using advanced solutions priced specifically for their needs," said Tom Iannotti, vice president, Compaq Global Services, EMEA. "They simplify and improve their management of desktop and server systems, increasing their productivity, availability and efficiency. Medium-sized businesses will be especially attracted to this offering because it is easy-to-implement and provides rapid return-on-investment, as opposed to other solutions in the market place that aren't able to address the concerns of the SMB."
The new opportunity combines CA’s IT Enterprise Edition management software with Microsoft’s operating system ad databases, and Compaq’s hardware, start-up services and on-going support. The program also offers an easy and cost effective route for medium-sized to scale-up to a full function enterprise management solution, such as CA’s Unicenter TNG.
