American General Finance Rolls out Stampede TurboGold

Stampede Technologies, Inc. (Dayton, Ohio), a developer of accelerator software, announced that its client, American General Finance (AGF) has begun deploying Stampede's server-to-server and client-to-server TurboGold software.
"As the design of our new network architecture began to unfold we knew speed was critical to making it successful," says Jerry Gilpin, senior vice president, Information Systems and Services for AGF. "We had put together an outstanding combination of state-of-the-art hardware and software but continued to look for ways to make it quicker and more efficient. When we were introduced to TurboGold and put it through some testing of our own, we knew we had found the solution we were seeking."
To meet AGF's requirements of performing simultaneous replications over their 1,350 servers, IBM employed hardware and software in the network design. The design encompasses the IBM AS/400 server platform running Lotus' Domino Server software utilizing the Hughes very small aperture terminal (VSAT) satellite network.
AGF is one of the largest consumer finance companies in the country with over $13 billion in assets and over 75 years of lending experience. The company provides loans, retail financing, and other credit related products to more than two million American families through 7,000 loan specialists in 1,350 neighborhood offices. Their operation spans 41 states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
