U.S. Department of Agriculture Selects Amdahl Software
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Finance Center in New Orleans has acquired the firm’s Transparent Data Migration Facility (TDMF) storage management software package.
The USDA center will use TDMF software to copy, move and store the increasingly vast amounts of data that flow through its four IBM mainframe configurations in the New Orleans location.
In addition to supporting financial and accounting applications for USDA agencies, which includes the U.S. Forest Service, the center also processes payrolls and other financial applications for many other federal agencies. For example, it processes the applications which support the U.S. Department of the Treasury Thrift Savings Program, the 401K plan for federal employees.
