BEA Expands Partnerships & Product Integration

BEA Systems has expanded its group of content management partners that integrate with BEA WebLogic Personalization Server, through a newly published interface. The expanded partnerships are expected to help businesses reduce both the time and cost for e-commerce and mobile-commerce content development and management.

BEA currently bundles versions of Documentum 4i Web Content Management Edition and Interwoven Content Express for BEA. In addition, BEA WebLogic customers now can choose from the following list of integrated content management packages: eBT's engenda, eGrail's Publishing System, Eprise's Participant Server, FatWire's UpdateEngine5, FileNET's Panagon Platform, Gauss' VIP Platform, IntraNet Solutions' Xpedio, Openpages' ContentWare, and Starbase's eXpressroom.

META Group, an analyst and research firm based in Stamford, Conn., reported that technical staffing issues, such as shortages and lack of business knowledge, will increasingly drive organizations to deploy content management strategically. As a result, business users increasingly will be responsible for Web site content, and drive competitive advantage through Web marketing.

"Web content management is a strategic tool for businesses who must empower their business users to retake control of web site content," says Andrew Warzecha, Vice President, META Group. "BEA's content management partner initiative offers WebLogic users a wide variety of choices and helps remove some of the integration issues an e-business could face with these products."
