DataMirror Prepares Software for IBM OS/400 V5R1 Support

DataMirror has announced that its iCluster, High Availability Suite, and Transformation Server products will support the IBM OS/400 V5R1 operating system concurrent with its general availability on May 25, 2001.

"For more than six months, the new V5R1 operating system has been deployed on multiple IBM iSeries systems in-house to ensure rigorous compliance testing and support. We are pleased to announce that all DataMirror software will be available and fully supported on V5R1 immediately upon the release of the new operating system later this month."

With new V5R1 enhancements, DataMirror software can offer expanded real-time functionality including the ability to mirror data areas while they are being modified. iCluster also supports Independent Auxiliary Storage Pools (IASPs), which provide switched disk capabilities for iSeries IFS environments in a local configuration. In addition to iCluster’s ability to provide a true disaster recovery solution for both local and remote IFS environments.

The iCluster’s Java graphical user interface (GUI) has been designed specifically to enhance the user's ability to administer clustered iSeries environments. iCluster 1.5 incorporates all the exclusive performance features of DataMirror’s proven High Availability Suite solution, such as XtremeCache and real-time IFS mirroring to ensure maximum uptime.

DataMirror’s Transformation Server real-time data integration software now offers native support for DB2 UDB on all platforms where the data resides, including IBM iSeries (OS/400) and zSeries (OS/390), UNIX, Linux and Microsoft Windows NT/2000.

DataMirror iCluster, High Availability Suite, and Transformation Server will support OS/400 V5R1 concurrent with its release on May 25th, 2001.
