Akamai Wins Government Contracts
Akamai Technologies will support several U.S. federal government Web sites, including the U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) and the Voice of America.
The U.S. Census Bureau will use Akamai's EdgeSuite service to power its online repository of demographic and economic information. The GPO, which acts as a service point for printing, binding and disseminating information to the federal community, will use Akamai content delivery services to reduce page download times. The Voice of America, a news-gathering organization, will use streaming services from Akamai to provide live and on-demand audio and video broadcasts.
