Computer Associates Web-Enables AS/400 Applications
With its recent release COOL:2E Web Option, Computer Associates becomes the latest vendor to offer a solution for bringing iSeries and AS/400 applications to the Web.
Part of Computer Associates' suite of e-business management tools, COOL:2E Web Option is being touted as a solution that accelerates the time-to-market for AS/400 and iSeries-based organizations looking to Web-enable their business model. The offering, which automates the conversion of green screen interfaces into HTML pages, supports client side scripts and complements third-party iSeries and AS/400 application software.
COOL:2E Web Option is a key component of Computer Associates' eBusiness Transformation and Integration portfolio, which is being positioned as a complete suite of tools for integrating disparate applications, databases and business partner systems.
According to Computer Associates, the introduction of COOL:2E Web Option will be instrumental in protecting the software and hardware investments of its customers. With the COOL:2E Web Option, customers will be able to provide Web access to existing legacy applications rather than investing additional money in new Web-based solutions to support their e-business efforts.
