EDS and Akamai Extend Efforts to Cover Web Hosting
Building upon a cross-selling relationship EDS and Akamai established in September 2000, the two companies have established an agreement to offer Akamai's EdgeSuite service with EDS' hosting services. The addition of EdgeSuite to EDS' hosting services targets enterprise customers looking to maximize site performance and reliability when delivering content via the Web - including static and dynamic content, embedded objects, streaming media, applications and HTML. In previous agreements, EDS became a reseller of Akamai's FreeFlow content delivery, FreeFlow Streaming media delivery and FirstPoint global traffic management services, and Akamai became a provider of EDS' Intelligent Storage Services.
