Special Olympics Texas Outsources IT with Everdream
Everdream Corp. announced that it has been chosen by Special Olympics Texas to implement an IT infrastructure for all of its locations. Everdream will provide hardware, software, office applications and remote data backup for employees, with a service guarantee based on a single point of contact and accountability for all desktop management services.
Special Olympics Texas will use Everdream's 24/7 Solutions Center, secure automated online backup, virus protection, self-healing capabilities, Virtual Desk-Side Assistance, diagnosis and repair, Web-based e-mail, and asset and software management - all on HP desktops and notebook PC. In addition, Everdream will provide similar but limited support for Special Olympics Texas existing systems until they are migrated to the complete Everdream platform.
"We are in the business of helping people, not managing technology. We do not have the time, expertise or resources to keep an on-site full-service IT department," said Margaret Larsen, president, Special Olympics Texas in a statement. "Everdream will provide support to our 18 area offices, some in remote regions of Texas, where we have had difficulty finding cost-effective and available IT resources."
Special Olympics is an international program of year-round sports training and athletic competitions for more than one million children and adults with mental retardation. About 25,000 communities in the United States have Special Olympics programs. Special Olympics Chapters are established in 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, the Virgin Islands, and American Samoa. Special Olympics Texas is one of the largest chapters in the world with more than 24,000 athletes participating in the program. Headquartered in Austin, Special Olympics Texas has 18 area offices across the state.
