Packet Sniffer SDK: Network Monitoring Library for Windows OS Family with Unprecedented Operating Performance

May 31, 2005 - MicroOLAP Technologies announces the release of the version 2.3 of the "Packet Sniffer SDK for Windows" library set - ActiveX, DLL, VCL, and static library editions for Microsoft VC and Borland C compilers.

Packet Sniffer SDK is a library set for packet capture and network analysis for all Win32 platforms. PSSDK library allows to capture the whole traffic in 1Gbit networks without preinstalled packet-capture drivers by application created with any modern development environment including Microsoft Visual Basic, Microsoft VB.NET Framework, Microsoft Visual C++, Microsoft Visual C#, Borland Delphi/C++Builder, Sybase PowerBuilder, Intel C++ for Windows, and many others.

Packet Sniffer SDK has been used in advanced and heavy work loaded applications which require an exceptional performance, where the loss of networking packets is absolutely unacceptable hardware monitoring applications, IP telephony, Intrusion Detection Systems, and many others.

With the release of the version 2.3, Packet Sniffer SDK has obtained the new convenient components for TCP sessions assembling and local traffic monitoring. Also in this release two mechanisms for increasing of the packets capturing performance were implemented: the asynchronous packets queue and FastBPF technology that lead to increased performance.

On the developers' Web site you can find well-known command-line packet-capture tool tcpdump, compiled with Packet Sniffer SDK: http://microolap.com/products/network/tcpdump/.
