Sunbelt Software Upgrades CounterSpy Enterprise
Improves scalability, reporting, and usability
Clearwater, Florida -- August 28, 2006 -- Sunbelt Software today announced the general availability of a significant upgrade to its enterprise antispyware solution, CounterSpy Enterprise. The new Version 1.8 improves scalability and performance and offers reporting and interface usability enhancements while continuing to deliver robust spyware protection.
CounterSpy Enterprise delivers faster performance to support up to several thousand agents while utilizing less memory on the server. When changes to server configuration are required, changes can be made without restarting the update, policy, and reporting services. The console has been optimized for speed when viewing large amounts of agent information such as scan histories and quarantined items.
With an improved database schema, CounterSpy Enterprise provides faster report rendering with the ability to store all report data in one database. Administrators can customize reports using Crystal Reports and have more drill-down options for data reporting. HTML export support is now included along with a report generation command line utility. Support has now been added for Oracle database and SQL Server 2005.
With improvements to the central management console, presentation of detected threats within the console now makes it easier for administrators to unquarantine threats and add to a whitelist when required within the organization. The console now has additional default actions for threat remediation allowing for new and unknown threat types to be handled appropriately. Additionally, the proxy configuration setup tool has been enhanced so administrators can easily give remote console privileges to non-server administrators.
