Princeton Softech Expands Enterprise Data Management for Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne
Integrated archiving capabilities enable on-time completion of key business processes for JD Edwards sites
PRINCETON, NJ -- September 5, 2006 -- Princeton Softech announced the general availability of its Optim™ JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Solution, Version 2.1. This release delivers expanded data management and integrated archiving capabilities for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Inventory and Work Order applications with support included for sites running both recent JD Edwards versions and those still on older platforms, like XE and ERP8. Companies can manage continued data growth to improve service levels, mitigate risk and achieve a superior ownership experience that maximizes the business value of their JD Edwards applications.
"Archiving with Optim provided significant savings for us," said Tony Malhi, director of IT at Art in Motion. "With production data growing so rapidly, we were coming down to a disk space crunch. The number of sales and work orders were rapidly increasing, getting in the way of our day-to-day transaction processing. We were being bogged down and knew we had to mitigate the burden by archiving data from production to improve performance. Optim allowed us to reclaim valuable database capacity, while reducing the time it takes for backup processing."
Implementing Optim has provided Art in Motion with benefits that extend across the entire organization. Archiving made it possible to reduce the size of the JD Edwards production database and reclaim approximately 13 percent of database storage requirements within the first month of implementation.
JD Edwards sites can accumulate transactional data quickly, leading to delays in completing key business processes such as inventory replenishment and work order fulfillment. Archiving historical transaction data improves service levels, lowers infrastructure costs, and reduces the time and resources required for data management and maintenance. Archiving also enables companies to support compliance and disaster recovery objectives by retaining historical records as complete "reference snapshots" and moving them to an alternate data store, while retaining accessibility.
"As a Certified Advantage Partner in Oracle PartnerNetwork, Princeton Softech provides one of the only enterprise data management solutions with integrated archiving capabilities across the entire set of Oracle applications, including Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise, Oracle’s Siebel and custom and packaged applications built upon Oracle databases," said Lenley Hensarling, vice president and general manager, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne at Oracle. "Our mutual customers can align optimal service levels in support of business objectives by implementing tiered storage strategies for managing historical transactions. This provides them great business value by lowering costs throughout the information lifecycle."
"Ensuring consistent performance to meet SLAs and achieving compliance readiness are key business objectives," said James Holincheck, research vice president at Gartner. "In order to sustain performance and align operations management with business goals across a greater range of mission-critical business processes, companies should consider data management solutions that provide integrated archiving capabilities across various environments."
