PreEmptive Solutions, a provider of solutions that protect, monitor, and manage software development investments, released DashO Version 5, integrating application security with business performance monitoring for Java-based applications. This latest version of DashO, an obfuscation product for Java, includes major functional extensions offering improved application security, extended support for emerging enterprise and mobile frameworks, and the ability to monitor application adoption and end-user behavior.

“When DashO was launched in 1999, it was in response to emerging threats unique to Java and the state of computing systems at the time,” said Gabriel Torok, CEO of PreEmptive Solutions. “Fundamentally, our mission has not changed except now development teams are deploying across clouds, servers, and mobile devices and monitoring application use is as important as securing code."

DashO features now include:

  • Runtime Intelligence Service integration can inject session and feature level monitoring post-build with no programming required and stream runtime data to the Runtime Intelligence Service portal
  • Automated support for Spring, Hibernate, JSP Tag Libraries, and WAR files; enterprise-scale applications often have the highest security concerns and the greatest need for monitoring and management; automated support for these frameworks and libraries has become a broad industry requirement
  • Google Android support; DashO offers protection, measurement, and management of this growing category of application development
