ExtraHop Networks, Inc. released ExtraHop Application Delivery Assurance system v2.0, a 10GbE solution for integrated network and application visibility, enabling delivery of high-speed, high-performance applications over the network. With an extensive array of new features and capabilities, the ExtraHop system v2.0 brings strong performance, visibility, and ease-of-use to network and application management, enabling IT to deliver more effective services with smaller teams while maximizing existing investments.
As the complexity of application environments increases with the adoption of service-oriented architectures, virtualization technologies, cloud services, and network storage, keeping applications performing at peak levels has become increasingly difficult. Network and application teams struggle with silo-based tools and playing the “blame game” when troubleshooting, tuning performance, or planning for changes in capacity. With ExtraHop Application Delivery Assurance system v2.0, customers can gain greater insights into their entire application environment and achieve immediate ROI with reduced mean time to recover (MTTR), greater efficiency, and improved application performance.
The ExtraHop Application Delivery Assurance system v2.0 bridges the gap between network and application teams and provides a shared solution for holistically managing complex, large-scale application environments. With the 10 GbE platform, ExtraHop’s single solution collects, consumes, and correlates all data from L2-L7 to provide comprehensive insight and diagnostics, driving MTTR from weeks or days down to hours or minutes. The ExtraHop system expedites troubleshooting and performance tuning to help smaller teams do more with less and get the most out of their IT infrastructure.
The ExtraHop Application Delivery Assurance system v2.0 extends the existing ExtraHop platform in three dimensions: scalability and performance, enhanced visibility for storage and LDAP systems; and ease of use.
Performance: The ExtraHop Application Delivery Assurance system v2.0 is a 10GbE platform designed for demanding application environments, supporting:
- 10Gbps throughput
- Up to 3000 network devices
- Analysis of tens of thousands of transactions simultaneously and in real time
Visibility: The ExtraHop Application Delivery Assurance system v2.0 delivers true application-level visibility for CIFS, iSCSI, and LDAP protocols, enabling the right levels of scalability, availability, and performance for enterprise storage systems and LDAP-based directory applications.
ExtraHop’s storage module records transaction performance metrics and detailed error messages and enables users to track slow or degraded file transfers to individual files, identify excessive file locking, adjust WAN-Optimization strategies, and measure storage capacity needs. ExtraHop’s LDAP Module records transaction performance metrics and detailed error messages and enables users to monitor local or upstream LDAP providers, identify SLA breaches, and troubleshoot LDAP performance issues.
Ease-of-Use: With the ExtraHop Application Delivery Assurance system v2.0, customers achieve even greater out-of-the-box value with new ease-of-use features. Dashboard widgets highlight performance hotspots and showcase recent alerts, and users are able to create application-centric and role-specific dashboards targeted for specific teams using a Web interface. The trend-based alerting feature automatically discovers and learns application- and network-performance trends, then proactively alerts on anomalous behavior to discover problems early. Pre-defined alert sets for common application and network environments can be applied automatically.
