A update to desktop alert software -- DeskAlerts -- has been released. The software works over HTTP and allows users to send alerts to thousands of computers in corporate networks or connected via the Internet. DeskAlerts can send any content, including rich-formatted text, graphics, video, and documents.
The new version now supports Novell directory service, eDirectory. With this new feature, DeskAlerts becomes a truly multinetwork desktop alert solution, able to send alerts to technologically and geographically diverse networks.
The desktop alert software can send alerts within Active Directory, eDirectory, and any network connection over the Internet, through proxies, firewalls, VPNs, and Citrix clients. It can send alerts as popup windows, desktop tickers, e-mails, and can also to mobile devices.
The new version increases the desktop alert software ease of use. Each Editor is now able to manage any number of groups, organizational units, and users, and Administrators can quickly assign roles to Editors. The new alerts recurrence mechanism allows the user to set any option needed, such as the date and time to send alert and the date when the alert will be no longer valid. A new alerts delivery algorithm allows sending alerts to all computers that a user is logged into, even if he is logged into multiple computers.
