Neotys has announced NeoLoad 3.1, a test solution to incorporate support for new push technologies such as Adobe RTMP, Ajax Push, and Java serialization. NeoLoad 3.1 also offers new features to improve the design, execution, and analysis of load test campaigns.

Previous versions of NeoLoad supported major RIA technologies such as Ajax, Adobe Flex, GWT, and Silverlight. NeoLoad release 3.1 takes the next step in testing Web applications by allowing users to load test the latest and most advanced development technologies, just months after their release. NeoLoad now includes support for the newest "Push" data exchange protocols such as such Adobe RTMP, LightStreamer, and ICEfaces. These protocols provide greater fluidity and interaction with Web applications that integrate rich content (Flash, video, sound) as they offer enhanced capabilities for data exchange with better interoperability.

NeoLoad 3.1 also offers new capabilities such as automatic handling of dynamic parameters, improved transaction modeling, and preset monitoring thresholds with real-time alerts. A new Java serialization module has also been added to record and replay applications using the Java object serialization over HTTP. This module is fully compatible with the spring remote framework.

Other key features in NeoLoad 3.1 include:

  • Parameters framework: automates the extraction and injection of dynamic parameters within the application. The engine variabilization feature has been improved to include more comprehensive injection rules, support for binary protocols, and the provision of pre-configured frameworks.

  • Shared Elements: provides a set of business transactions and a pool for all virtual profiles. In this latest version, when changes are made to initial script, updates occur automatically.

  • Threshold alerts: sets monitoring thresholds for a very large number of parameters (CPU, servers, memory) and automatically generates alerts as a threshold is met. This feature helps detect anomalies and extract key information during troubleshooting. This feature helps detect software or hardware resources that are becoming saturated during a load test.

NeoLoad 3.1 is available now and can be tested free for 30 days with a trial version download from the Neotys Web site. The cost for a 250 virtual user permanent license with the FLEX protocol is $22,826. Monthly rental for the same configuration costs $6,024. For more information, visit www.neotys.com.
