Network administrators and IT infrastructure engineers spend a significant amount of time mapping out the connections to switches, tracing cables, identifying duplex mismatches, and investigating spanning tree issues. To help make tracking down users and switch ports quick, easy and reliable, SolarWinds Inc., a provider of powerful and affordable IT management software, has released a new, low-cost tool -- Switch Port Mapper.
A popular tool in the SolarWinds Engineer’s Toolset, Switch Port Mapper is now available as a standalone tool for just $195. With Switch Port Mapper, IT professionals can remotely discover the users and devices connected to each port on Ethernet switches along with detailed device and port configuration information such as connected MAC address, IP address, Hostname, port speed, and duplex, among other facts.
Switch Port Mapper:
-
Remotely discovers devices connected to each port on Ethernet switches
-
Obtains detailed connected device information for each port
-
Enables/disables ports with a single click
-
Provides multi-vendor device support for any manageable switch
-
