Avenda Systems Helps IT Deploy Large-scale Network Access Security

Avenda Systems, an identity-based network access security and intelligence solutions provider, has released eTIPS version 4.0. Avenda’s latest platform release for physical and virtual machine appliances helps IT create larger, distributed network access security domains or clusters to support uniform context-aware policy enforcement, for geographically dispersed mobile enterprise deployments.
These new capabilities combine cost-effective, flexible attribute-driven policy management and network access control (NAC) endpoint compliance that overcome the complexity, administrative burden, and operational limitations of competitive approaches for distributed deployments that require a siloed high-availability model or dedicated management consoles.
In addition to features within the 4.0 release that automate the access security of a large, complex, and globally distributed workforce, Avenda’s new release provides additional functionality that supports managing a dynamic mobile environment and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiatives, including:
- Ability to assign granular administrative privileges per location, job role, or access method
- Enhanced endpoint health assessments that include checks for USB devices and granular hot fixes/patch compliance
- Global command-and-control capabilities for proactively altering an endpoint’s status over wireless and wired connections from a central console
- Flexibility to automate the registration of personal devices: iPads, laptops, tablets, and smartphones
