ScriptLogic Corporation, a systems lifecycle management solutions provider for Microsoft Windows-based networks, has released Active Administrator 6.0 which can secure, manage, maintain, audit and prevent problems across Active Directory and Group Policy environments from an integrated, cost-effective software solution. Version 6.0 extends the product’s management capability by adding tools to conduct Active Directory health assessments and proactive maintenance for user and computer accounts.

Active Directory Health

- The Active Directory Assessment Report provides a full environmental assessment on the Active Directory infrastructure to give administrators an overview of the domain and associated information to quickly spot any potential changes or problem areas.
- The Replication Analyzer, a new interactive area, facilitates replication health checkups and monitoring. Comprehensive results are displayed quickly with additional information available on the detail view screens, including both general replication errors and DNS test result information.
Active Directory Account Maintenance
With new Active Directory maintenance tools, Active Administrator 6.0 eases administrative burden of maintaining and managing Active Directory users and computers, which is especially difficult in disparate work environments.
- Using account maintenance tools for users and computers, IT administrators can quickly scan, assess, identify and delete inactive users and computers in a domain environment, closing an important and often neglected IT security loophole.
- A “Change Your Password” reminder function enables an administrator to schedule and automate a customized password reminder e-mail message to end users. This automation streamlines a process noted as a pain point for administrators and end users alike.
Other enhancements include new tools for auditing, alerting, and notification, giving IT administrators the Active Directory data they need when they need it. Active Administrator also features an updated recovery report, new usability enhancements, and permissions templates to further boost security.
