Unisys Corporation has released its new Unisys Intelligent Application Alignment Service, a packaged service that helps enterprises reduce the time needed to migrate key applications to a cloud-based delivery model.
With the rise of cloud computing, organizations now have more options for hosting their software applications and delivering cost-efficient IT services to their end users. However, the process of evaluating, prioritizing, and moving applications to the right delivery model can be time-consuming and expensive, especially when using traditional consulting engagements.
Unisys Intelligent Application Alignment Service is the latest addition to the Unisys Hybrid Enterprise set of solutions for cloud computing. It simplifies that process and uses automated software tools to discover and document an organization’s full inventory of applications and workloads. It evaluates each application using rules derived from industry best practices as well as client-business priorities, such as the criticality and the impact of a given application to the business.
The service then recommends the best delivery method for each application -- data center, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, for example -- based on factors such as service-level agreements, compliance, operational efficiency, and return on investment. The service blueprints the desired end state, enabling the application to be migrated to the recommended delivery model without degradation in performance.
“Our new service helps CIOs take full advantage of the cloud to save money and be more agile,” said Colin Lacey, vice president, data center and cloud transformation solutions and services at Unisys. “It enables CIOs to make informed decisions about where and when to best deploy a cloud-based delivery model, and just as important, where not to. By using automated processes, our service delivers results more quickly and cost-effectively, without the time and expense of one-off custom consulting engagements.”
The Intelligent Application Alignment service and related cloud offerings advance the Unisys Hybrid Enterprise framework, a comprehensive methodology and set of solutions for helping CIOs successfully integrate cloud-based resources with existing infrastructure in the enterprise IT environment.
Other solutions that are part of Unisys Hybrid Enterprise framework include:
- Unisys Secure Private Cloud Solution: This solution enables organizations to create a secure, automated private cloud infrastructure for resource provisioning within their data center. Integrated into Secure Private Cloud, Unisys Stealth Solution for Network cybersecurity software is designed to conceal communication end points on the network, making data, applications, and devices appear invisible to those not authorized to access them.
- Unisys Private Cloud Services: Unisys hosts a Secure Private Cloud Solution in a Unisys managed services center, providing clients fast access to on-demand IT resources without their needing to purchase additional infrastructure.
- Unisys CloudBuild Services: These services are designed to help clients cost-effectively plan, design, and implement cloud infrastructure. Through an interactive engagement process, Unisys creates an integrated plan and detailed design that guides implementation of the data center-cloud infrastructure.
- Unisys Integrated Service Management suite: This suite enables organizations to deliver consistent preemptive, and remedial support services for end users of both commercial off-the-shelf applications and systems ranging from mobile devices to mainframes to cloud resources.
