SAP Targets Smaller Enterprises with Updated Business Tool
SAP SE said its updated business management tool aimed at small and midsize enterprises (SMEs) and subsidiaries of large companies features new intelligent analytics and project management functionality.
Another feature of the SAP Business One offering is "an app-like interface for real-time access to main business functions," the company said.
The product handles business functions such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), accounting, customer relationship management (CRM), supply chain management (SCM) and more.
The solution's version for SAP HANA is available in both on-premises and cloud versions, supporting Microsoft SQL Server 2014.
Its project management capabilities come in the form of a module that tracks different tasks and stages of projects, including transactions, documents and other resources.
Its intelligent analytics can help users predict business issues such as the demand for products in order to improve material resource planning, the company said.
"We've eased use of analytical features to put the power of real-time data and information into the hands of smaller firms who want to run live," said exec Luis Murguia in a statement.
The company also solicited a statement from customer Nittu Creations.
"We are in the business of garment trading and have outgrown our recent software solutions, consisting of various and somewhat disconnected solutions like Microsoft Excel," Nittu exec Arun Gupta said. "Therefore, we decided to implement our first ERP system with SAP Business One. At the forefront is the benefit of one centralized system, which gives us insights across all functions within our business."
