Innovation Data Processing Releases New 390 Tool
With all of the changes in the SAN and NAS worlds, it's easy to forget about maintaining established systems. Innovation Data Processing has updated its software for backing up IBM Mainframes and PCs to mainframe-attached storage.
FDR/Upstream Director uses an OS/390 system as a central repository for backed up data. The Director product does not perform the backup process—enterprises purchase individual clients for the Windows, Linux and mainframe platforms—but it manages the processes needed for backup.
FDR/Upstream Director's interface is written in Java, allowing it to operate on any client with Java support. It uses a GUI interface, allowing most administrators to use it intuitively.
