DocForm V4.0 Software for Electronic Document Creation Now Available

Upgrade offers easier-to-use functionality and flexibility

IRVINE, Calif., (Aug. 22, 2005) - Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) today announced the availability of DocForm V4.0, an electronic forms software application offering a more flexible and expanded feature set for the dynamic design, creation, and real-time delivery of electronic documents, forms, and reports. With DocForm V4.0, Toshiba’s e-STUDIO users will have access to several powerful new features and capabilities, with the same cost-effective functionality.

Michael Alpert, director of Document Solutions, TABS, noted, “TABS customers will benefit from DocForm V4.0 software through the reduction of printing and integration costs, streamlined document workflows, and time savings, while providing 100 percent accuracy in digital document routing into archiving applications.”

Manufactured by Prism Software Corporation, one of the software’s most beneficial upgrades is the addition of optional modules for signature pad client and Tablet PC client hardware. These two modules allow users to capture signatures and/or notes and integrate them into their variable data. Likewise, users can display forms on a Tablet PC, then capture signatures or check boxes and print or route back to the DocForm Server for additional processing.

Another major advantage of DocForm V4.0 is the ability for users to quickly and easily apply otherwise-complex rules and conditions to documents. For example, by using the Visual Condition Builder, users can generate personalized business documents dynamically, with the ability to add targeted messages or images to achieve personalized campaigns. Similarly, the Expression Editor will create expressions that make formatting and sophisticated computations easy to include in new documents.

Users also will appreciate simplified document formatting with DocForm V4.0, including the ability to capture and process XML data into common formats that can be printed on any Toshiba printer or MFP. In addition, variable data can be merged into a PDF form and converted to a new PDF file. Once formatted, a Layout Editor permits users to print multiple-page forms or documents with separate layouts, such as landscape or portrait, for each page within the same document. Documents also can be printed in standard formats such as PostScript or PCL and dynamically emailed, faxed or sent to the Web.

DocForm V4.0 is now available through Toshiba’s nationwide network of dealers.
