Lieberman Software Releases Updates to Automated Password Management Tool

Version 4.0 of Account Reset Console lets users recover and renew their own passwords, promises to cut downtime

Lieberman Software has announced the release of the latest version of Account Reset Console, the company's Web-based password management solution.

Employees who have either forgotten their passwords or have been locked out of their accounts because of expired passwords often resort to calling the help desk. The result is lost productivity as employees wait for assistance, which -- in a late-night, worst-case scenario -- may not come until the next business day.

Version 4.0 of the Account Reset Console gives specific users the ability to change and reset their own passwords and unlock their own accounts within minutes. According to Lieberman, the product uses a "structured, regular password-reset regimen" that first notifies users if their passwords are due to expire, then requires them to verify their identities before changing their passwords. Users are then required to reset their changed passwords at their next log-in.

To ensure compliance with regulatory standards like Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA, the Account Reset Console also provides full audit trails of changed passwords, and automatically closes accounts that are no longer in use.

The latest release features "flexible scheduling enhancements, filtered user reports, user emulation for password resets, and makes setup easier," according to Lieberman.

The Account Reset Console works with SQL-capable databases. Free 30-day trials are available at http://www.liebsoft.com/index.cfm/products?id=236. For more information, go to http://www.liebsoft.com.
