Compaq, Aprisma and BMC Software Deliver ServiceLevel/Rx

BMC Software is working with Compaq and Aprisma to deliver ServiceLevel/Rx, an initiative that combines BMC Software's PATROL enterprise management suite and Aprisma's SPECTRUM infrastructure management platform with design and implementation services from Compaq Global Services. The solutions are intended to monitor and manage business-critical applications from the internal network to the application-level to the Web. Together, the BMC Software and Aprisma solutions will proactively identify, isolate and resolve service outages and degradations that threaten e-business operations.

Compaq plans to leverage this partnership to manage outsourced IT environments for customers and to manage its own internal IT infrastructure. To bring this enterprise solution to more customers, Compaq is increasing the number of PATROL-certified professional services consultants available in the field to deliver the ServiceLevel/Rx solution and will be leveraging the existing PATROL and service level management expertise available from BMC Software Professional Services.

Inspired by this successful implementation of PATROL and SPECTRUM in Compaq's own enterprise application infrastructure, which includes Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Tru64 UNIX, this new initiative delivers customized solutions to monitor and manage business-critical applications from the internal network to the application-level to the Web.

"The combination of PATROL for system and application monitoring and SpectroSERVER for network fault monitoring and alarming, allows us to set up correlations between network and server systems. Together they are an effective team and bring a high level of value to our outsourcing customers," notes Christoph Wittmer, a project manager for Compaq Global Service's FutureSourcing Practice.

This complete solution is now generally available from Compaq Global Services. For more information, visit www.compaq.com/services/management/ms_infrastructure.html (new window).
