Raritan Computer, Lightwave Join Forces

Raritan Computer and Lightwave Communications have formed a corporate alliance designed to develop and offer a complete and complementary line of server access and management products.

Using Raritan Computer’s experience in designing, manufacturing and distributing electronic KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) switches and connectivity products and Lightwave Communications’ console management solutions, the two companies will collaborate on product development to provide integration across both product lines.

The companies will immediately implement product enhancements so that all serial devices controlled by Lightwave's ConsoleServer serial products are automatically recognized by Raritan's Cat5-based KVM switching system, Paragon. Following this initial step of the agreement, all GUI systems and ASCII systems will have the ability to be controlled directly from a single Paragon on-screen menu.

By adding Raritan's TeleReach network interface, all systems can be accessed and controlled remotely via LAN, Internet or dial-up modem. Raritan and Lightwave are also planning to launch a joint sales effort to offer the resulting benefits of this partnership to their existing and potential customers in the enterprise-class server management market.
