IBM Launches E-Business Program for Small Businesses

In a move designed to reach the small and medium-sized business community, IBM is offering low cost e-business solutions under a new program called StartNow.

The eight solutions include three Linux-based offerings and cover a range of e-business considerations from Internet access to e-mail, research and information, Web site management, e-commerce, business intelligence and integration. IBM expects the Linux-based offerings to prove especially appealing among small to medium community, as several recent analyst reports show widespread adoption of the Linux platform among this group.

StartNow is a combination of IBM software, eServers and services delivered by IBM partners based on an evaluation of needs. The program also includes marketing and enablement features to those companies that need them.

Specifically, the StartNow solutions are based on DB2, WebSphere, Lotus Domino Application Server, Lotus iNotes and Lotus Sametime.
