Compaq and Oracle to Sail Away in 2003
Compaq Computer Corporation will support the Oracle Racing team in its quest to capture the 31st America's Cup in 2003. The company will act as Oracle Racing's technology sponsor by providing equipment, services and support.
According to the company, Compaq equipment and solutions will be used for everything from designing the hull and sails to performance analysis.
Oracle Racing's sailing and design teams are already using Compaq notebooks and desktop PCs during everyday operations, and ProLiant servers support on-the-water testing and design databases. The design team uses a Compaq AlphaServer SC supercomputer.
