IBM Offers Upgrade Customers Free, Discounted Software
IBM has announced two new promotions, effective immediately, that will give customers free or discounted software when they upgrade to the latest AS/400 technology.
The first promotion allows customers who have a System/36 with eligible software installed and in productive use who acquire an AS/400e 9401 Model 150 or 9406 Model 170 to receive selected IBM SSP [System Support Program] Release 7.5 software at no additional charge. Eligible System/36 software covered by the promotion includes Query/36, RPG II, PC Support/36 and others.
The second promotion allows customers at Version 2 or 3 of OS/400 to get a 15 percent discount on upgrade charges to Version 4 when they buy a new AS/400e 9406 Model 170.
These customers must buy the new box, upgrade to a V4 release and acquire AS/400 Software Subscription. They will then receive a 15 percent discount on the eligible software upgrade charges and the software subscription charges. To take advantage of this offer, orders must be placed by June 11 with installation by June 30.
Both promotions are available in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Caribbean North countries. U.S. Federal Government customers should call (800) 333-6705 to determine eligibility.
