WRQ's Enterview 2.0 Supports AS/400
WRQ Inc. (Seattle) today announced the availability of its Reflection EnterView 2.0 Beta, which adds AS/400 support to the EnterView Web-to-host access product.
In addition to support for the AS/400 platform, EnterView 2.0 -- scheduled for general availability in early April -- now includes: integrated 168-bit triple DES and 56-bit DES encryption; the Deployment Director step-by-step configuration tool; Java usage metering; and enhanced Java-based APIs.
Accessible through Java, JavaScript, VBScript and HTML, these APIs are designed to allow an IT staff to automate logon scripts, access dialog boxes and create a Web framework to develop a simplified user interface.
"Today, enterprises are seeking ways to leverage their legacy data via intranets and extranets as well as positioning themselves for even expanded access in the future," says Shaun Wolfe, WRQ Reflection business unit manager. "This creates the need for Web-to-host solutions that companies can quickly and easily implement without significant increases in cost or IT resources."
Products like EnterView play a "critical" role in facilitating e-business, according to Scott Merrick, marketing manager for WRQ's Reflection and Express software products. "[EnterView] helps businesses communicate more effectively. This is where Web-to-host products can grow in the e-commerce space," he says.
