HP and Software.com form a partnership. HP takes an equity postion.
HP and Software.com, Inc. announced a strategic alliance to deliver carrier-scale messaging solutions to service providers who offer consumer and business messaging services. As part of this alliance, HP has purchased an equity stake in Software.com. HP plans to leverage Software.com's InterMail family of products as a cornerstone of its Smart Internet Messaging Solution. The combined solution is optimized for service providers who are building business messaging services, or "hosted messaging," in which small to large enterprises engage service providers to host and manage their messaging capabilities.
