Brio Delivers IBM-Specific Business Intelligence Suite
Staking its claim on the success of IBM technology in the enterprise server market, business intelligence software developer Brio Technology Inc. (Palo Alto, Calif.) introduces a new line of products made specifically for IBM network administrators, Brio Enterprise: IBM Edition. In addition, Brio also announced completion of a worldwide reseller agreement with IBM for the new products.
As part of the agreement, Brio has created a specific IBM "private label" version of Brio Enterprise 6.0, while giving IBM the right to sell the IBM version of Brio Enterprise on all platforms and languages worldwide. While the two companies already had an existing reseller agreement, but this new deal provides a more flexible framework for delivering complete business intelligence solutions on a global basis.
"Making Brio Enterprise: IBM Edition available to IBM customers worldwide will help us deliver on our commitment to truly meet the needs of global enterprises," says Jim Kelley, VP of data management for the marketing-software solutions division at IBM.
"Brio has been committed to delivering optimized products and solutions for the IBM environment for some time," says Yorgen Edholm, president and CEO of Brio. "This agreement solidifies the relationship on a worldwide basis."
Brio Enterprise: IBM Edition features native support for DB2 Universal Database, DB2 Universal Database for AS/400 and DB2 OLAP server, and will be available in Web and Microsoft Windows client implementations, and for both AIX and Windows NT server environments. The IBM-specified version offers the same tools available on Brio Enterprise 6.0, such as enhanced graphical development tools and JavaScript programming environments. Brio Enterprise: IBM Edition will generally be available beginning July 1, 1999.
