For Services In The New World Order

Cisco Systems, Inc., HP and KPMG LLP are creating an alliance to define and deliver integrated solutions that will help service providers speed time-to-market and revenue for Internet Protocol (IP)-based New World services over Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) and cable, including Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and Voice-over-IP (VoIP).

The alliance is dedicated to defining and delivering solutions and business processes for New World Operation Support Systems (OSS) and Business Support Systems (BSS). These New World solutions can help differentiate service offerings, improve time-to-revenue and enhance customer satisfaction for service providers.

As part of the alliance, the three firms are also creating a network of Alliance Resource Centers to showcase the market-readiness of these integrated solutions. The first of many worldwide Alliance Resource Centers is scheduled to open in the fall of 1999 in Mountain View, Calif., and will allow the alliance members to quickly develop and adapt solution offerings as well as allow service providers to evaluate these solutions through hands-on testing.

Each member of the alliance contributes significant value to customers. Cisco delivers world-class networking technologies, provisioning and management tools which underlie the New World infrastructure. HP provides expertise in service and process management solutions, as well as world-class server platforms and technology consulting services. KPMG delivers system engineering and networking integration services, industry-specific business consulting and thought leadership in strategic business planning.
