Perle Provides Resellers with More Complete Offerings

Looking to improve its distribution strategy, Perle Systems Inc. (Toronto) recently announced enhancements that will enable its five key distribution partners in the United States to provide delivery-on-demand of Perle products to resellers across North America. These five distribution partners are: Tech Data Inc., SupportNet Inc., Phoenix Computer Products, High Desert Systems and Strategic Systems S.E.

Under terms of the agreement, each of these companies will house a complete inventory of Perle products and provide next-day delivery to North American resellers. This new approach will provide the reseller community with a broader set of purchasing options, as well as strong sales support from Perle distributors before and after purchase.

"By leveraging existing partnerships with our leading distributors, we are providing significant benefits to existing Perle resellers, while further developing our distribution channels to reach a broader range of customers," says Dan Fragen, Perle's president of U.S. operations. "The change means resellers can now purchase their Perle remote access products along with other complimentary solutions from a single sourceā€”to help meet all of their customers' connectivity needs."

In other Perle news, the company announced the availability of LAN-to-LAN functionality in Version 5.8 of the Perle 833IS Remote Access Server. Version 5.8 of the 833IS enables companies to connect small to medium-sized remote offices/branch offices (ROBO) or Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) sites to a central site over V.90, ISDN or analog dial-up connections using IP or IPX protocols.

Providing companies with bi-directional LAN-to-LAN routing, Version 5.8 of the 833IS allows users at remote sites to connect to a central LAN using a dial up router and the Perle 833IS. It also allows users at the central LAN to dial out to remote offices via the Perle 833IS and the dial up router.
