Lakeview Looks to Extend MIMIX to Europe
Looking to increase its presence in Europe, Lakeview Technology Inc. (Oak Brook, Ill.) recently announced a program where they will work with IBM Europe and Lakeview distributors to introduce the MIMIX AS/400 availability management solution to customers in countries throughout Europe.
"Our customers purchase AS/400s for the high availability and reliability that is built into each system. This is particularly important as they implement e-business solutions," says Kathy Butler, IBM's VP of system sales for EMEA. "In response to customers' requirements, high availability is a strategic initiative for IBM. The new program enables IBM to work with one of the industry leaders in this space to provide our customers with the solutions they need."
Under terms of the agreement, MIMIX will be introduced directly to AS/400 customers by IBM sales teams in cooperation with existing IBM and Lakeview sales channels. According to Lakeview, MIMIX will answer customer needs for high availability of data and applications, as well as for eliminating planned and unplanned downtime.
"Delivering complete solutions for business requires more than just software. It is building value-based partnerships at all levels," says David Wegman, Lakeview's VP of marketing. "This program builds on our highly successful program in North Europe and Lakeview's long-term partnership with IBM. This strategic business move will provide MIMIX greater opportunity and penetration into the expanding European market, while at the same time, enhance customer satisfaction with IBM."
