Providing security-enhanced payments processing capabilities, IBM has announced its newest release of Web Sphere Payment Manager, version 2.1.
In order to handle increasingly complex e-commerce transactions, IBM WebSphere Payment Manager 2.1 enables service providers to quickly and easily link merchants to payment processors. The newest version offers payment hosting capabilities for Internet service providers (ISPs), commerce service providers (CSPs), application service providers (ASPs), banks and financial institutions.
“Payment hosting service is a rapidly growing market that presents a unique opportunity for service providers to retain and grow their merchant base--specifically through the added payments capability of the WebSphere Payment Manager,” says Ed Kilroy, general manager, IBM E-commerce Software Solutions. “As more and more merchants move online, there is a growing need to seamlessly add payment capabilities with existing software for an easy to use, end-to-end more secure e-commerce solution. As a leading provider of e-commerce payments software, IBM helps service providers ease merchants’ transition to an e-business.”
With global e-commerce spending expected to rise from $111 billion this year to $1.3 trillion in 2003 (International Data Corp.), WebSphere Payment Manager allows merchants to quickly move into the online credit and debit card transactions in a secure manner. WebSphere Payment Manager 2.1 will be available on the AS/400 in the first quarter of 2000.
