DataMirror Extends Competitive Upgrade Promotion

Buoyed by its success, DataMirror (Toronto) has announced it is extending its competitive upgrade promotion on its High Availability Suite for AS/400 and Transformation Server software.
Under terms of the promotion, organizations who currently have a competing high availability or data movement solution will receive a 50 percent discount if they purchase either a DataMirror or High Availability Suite or Transformation Server license before January 20, 2000.
“In the past year, about 20 percent of our new High Availability Suite customers were from competitive upgrades. Given this success, we are extending the promotion to include Transformation Server and providing customers with this incentive opportunity until January 20 of next year,” says Nigel Stokes, president and CEO of DataMirror Corp. “We provide customers with a total e-business offering. Our Transformation Server product provides dot-com customers with a single solution for replication and caching across multiple platforms. For IBM AS/400 customers, High Availability Suite provides a fast, flexible and easy-to-use solution for resiliency and continuous availability.”
The competitive upgrade promotion coincides with DataMirror’s participation in IBM’s e-business Solution Rebate Program. In the rebate program, customers purchasing a new AS/400 9406 Model 7xx or upgrading an existing 940x to a model 7xx for high availability before Dec. 23,1999 may receive a rebate from IBM equal to 15 percent of the eligible hardware purchase price by licensing DataMirror’s High Availability Suite software. DataMirror furthers extends the value of IBM’s e-business Solution Rebate promotion by offering customers a 50 percent discount on the second High Availability Suite license for the backup AS/400 system.
