Expanding their horizons, Hummingbird Communications Ltd. (Toronto)--an enterprise software and solutions company—has announced the launch of its Enterprise Information Portal (EIP).
The Hummingbird EIP provides a single point of access to all structured and unstructured enterprise data. The EIP effectively connects users to the proper content and allows them to process, filter and act upon information from any enterprise source.
“The Hummingbird EIP launch represents a very exciting milestone for us,” says Barry Litwin, Hummingbird President. “This announcement represents the best that Hummingbird has to offer in all of its core competency areas including connectivity, data integration and reporting, and knowledge and document management.”
By bridging together structured and unstructured information, the EIP provides knowledge workers with the tools needed to access, extract and analyze enterprise information, then act on it. This allows organizations to take advantage of its existing knowledge, while also empowering users with the ability to make fast, informed decisions.
The EIP will be released to manufacturing in January, 2000. Hummingbird also has plans to develop an EIP solution specifically for the legal community, scheduled to be unveiled in March.
